The company that manufactures the cars sold by Audi Oakland and
other Audi dealerships can be traced to August Horch, whose company
produced the first Horch car in 1901 in Zwickau, Germany.
Brussels Berlin European car sales dropped for the consecutive
second month, dragged down by a hefty 6.6 per cent fall in Germany,
data released Friday showed.
Car sales in Europe slipped by 0.3 per cent
to 1.82 million in March, the Brussels based European Automobile
Manufacturers' Association ACEA said, resulting in a 0.2 per cent fall
during the first three months of the year.

Horch was forced out of the company in 1909 by his partners but he
established a new company in Zwickau and continued to sell cars with
the Horch brand. However, he was sued by his former partners for
trademark infringement and was forced to refrain from using his own
name for his new automobile manufacturing business, which was the
forerunner of the present Audi company that produces the cars sold by
auto dealerships like Audi Oakland.
Built in 1986 and located at Ottostrasse 28, the plant has functioned as
lord corporation's European manufacturing site for rubber-to-
substrate bonding and coating products, serving industrial and automotive
anti-vibration, belting and weather-strip door seal manufacturers.
According to Edward Conner, Europe Elastomer Adhesives & Coatings
Business Director, the expansion will significantly expand and enhance
lord corporation's capability to provide European customers with
localized service and supply of rubber product and process solutions,
rubber-to-substrate RTS primers, adhesives and coatings, as well as
future manufacturing capabilities for other product lines including structural
adhesives, corrosion control and high performance coatings.
